TURKUAZ w/ Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew REMAIN IN LIGHT Turns 40
Turkuaz w/ Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew: REMAIN IN LIGHT turns 40 will celebrate the Talking Heads record, Remain In Light. Featuring Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads and Adrian Belew, who played a significant role on the record and the subsequent tours in support of it, including this now iconic and documented show from Rome in 1980 that can be seen in all its glory HERE. Many consider this time as Talking Heads at their absolute peak powers. In addition to playing the record in sequence, the show will feature other Talking Heads songs, as well.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve toured. Once I started producing Turkuaz, I started to think. I’d love to play Talking Heads’ songs again. And, Turkuaz is one of few artists that really understand this music. Once Adrian signed on it was clear we could recreate the excitement and joy that was achieved in Talking Heads iconic 1980 Rome concert.” – Jerry Harrison
Turkuaz has been pacing on average about 100 shows per year since 2013, and with the release of “Life In The City” in 2018, the band kicked things up a notch with sold out shows in iconic venues such as The Fillmore in San Francisco, The Ogden in Denver, Brooklyn Steel in NYC, Tipitina’s In New Orleans and The Paradise in Boston, MA. The band wears their Talking Heads influence proudly, even recently covering Heads’ B-Side “Big Business (live video HERE). Entertainment Weekly has proclaimed Turkuaz as “a cross between Talking Heads and Jesus”
