Adar Seligman-McComas’ original music and lyrics emerge from that most deeply interior space in which language shifts and slides and sometimes speaks in opposites.  Through metaphor, melody, and rhythm, private meanings become shared experience.  From the most personal of places, she creates music that speaks to all of us.

Based in Charlottesville, VA, Adar formed her band, ADAR, in the summer of 2016, and shortly after, released her first album “The Rapids.” In early 2020, the band made the decision to rename themselves darzo to better represent the inclusive nature of the work–in which the music reaches its final form only with the contributions and ideas of its deeply involved and talented members.

Darzo has electrified audiences with performances of genre-bending music that is not purely Soul, not simply R&B, nor straight-up Jazz. The band is currently in the process of releasing its first full-length album, which is expected to be available to the public in spring of 2020.
